This passage is traditionally called ‘The white sheet” and this traditional trading route length is an amazing trek passable for only a few weeks a year, from January to February. The Chadar region is rarely visited by foreigners and allows a glimpse of this enchanting winter universe, dramatic mountains and glaciers, home to the Zangskari people and their ancient monasteries. Nights are spent in caves and Zanskari villages en route.
